OUR PILOTS
All of our pilots have completed UAV Industries’ strict and demanding flight training programme, which gives us the confidence of a high standard of knowledge and expertise across our network.
In the case where a qualified pilot joins UAV Industries from an external flight school, they will have to undergo strict in-house orientation training and pass all relevant drones proficiency tests.
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
Pilots are assessed up to 4 times a year by an approved UAV Industries Flight Instructor. These tests implemented by the UAV Industries and the SACAA ensure that our pilots are always in top form and can provide the best service to our clients, putting safety first on every mission.
- Pilots are assessed up to 4 times a year by an approved UAV Industries Flight Instructor. Two of these tests are done on an ad-hoc basis without any prior notice, in order to check the pilot’s skills on all applicable areas relating to the pilot’s duties, including: Pre-flight checks, Administration & Operational Compliance, Flight skill and Post flight checks and administration.
- After the first year of a pilot’s career they are required to re-test and submit results to South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).
- Thereafter, the pilot is required to be tested by the Designated Flight Examiner every 2nd year.
